Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sorus (sorus.io), operated by Sorus ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or submitting data, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
1. What Sorus does
Sorus is a data collection platform. We collect real-world call recordings — specifically spam, telecaller, and unsolicited call recordings — from contributors across India. These recordings are reviewed, cleaned, and licensed to AI companies for training purposes.
2. Who can use Sorus
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and contribute data. By signing up, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you are the person submitting the recordings.
3. What you can submit
We only accept recordings of spam calls, telecaller calls, and unsolicited sales calls that were made to you. You may not submit:
- Personal conversations with friends, family, or colleagues
- Recordings of anyone who did not initiate contact with you
- Fabricated or staged recordings
- Recordings that contain sensitive personal information about identifiable individuals beyond what is incidental to the call
4. Your ownership and consent
By submitting a recording, you confirm that:
- You were a party to or recipient of the recorded call
- You give Sorus permission to use, process, anonymize, and license the recording for AI training purposes
- You understand that once anonymized and licensed, the data may not be fully retractable from a licensee's training corpus
You retain ownership of the original recording. You grant Sorus a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to process and license the cleaned/anonymized version.
5. Payouts
We pay contributors for approved submissions via UPI. Payout amounts and timelines are set by Sorus and may change. Submissions that do not pass our quality review are not eligible for payment. We reserve the right to reject submissions that don't meet our quality criteria, contain personal conversations, or appear to be staged.
Payout rates are communicated within the platform and may vary by language, call type, and duration. We do not guarantee a fixed payout per submission.
6. Data processing and anonymization
All submitted recordings go through a review and anonymization process before being stored or used. We remove personally identifiable information (names, phone numbers, financial details) before the data is licensed. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
7. For AI companies (licensees)
Companies accessing Sorus datasets agree that:
- Datasets are licensed for AI training and research purposes only
- Redistribution or resale to third parties is not permitted without written consent
- Attempts to re-identify individual contributors from anonymized data are strictly prohibited
- Licensing terms are subject to separate agreement
8. Prohibited conduct
You may not use Sorus to submit fraudulent recordings, attempt to game the payout system, or interfere with the platform's operation. Accounts found engaging in abuse may be suspended without payout.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time by writing to delete@sorus.io. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Termination doesn't affect any licenses already granted for data you submitted.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Sorus is provided as-is. We don't guarantee continuous availability or that every submission will be approved. To the extent permitted by law, Sorus is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll notify you. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
